Pacquiao moving on from the Mayweather Drama

By Ed Anderson - Manny Pacquiao has decided to make good to his fans and put his title on the line against Joshua Clottey after the dramatic negotiations with Floyd Mayweather Jr. fell to the ground.

Mayweather Jr. had issued a statement today saying he still wanted to fight Pacquiao, but on his terms while Top Rank's Bob Arum said any further negotiations between the two sides would simply have to wait and rightfully so.

Even though any opponent at this juncture seems less exciting to fans when stacked against the idea of a fight with Floyd Mayweather , Pacquiao vs Clottey has the making of a classic fight.

In 2008 Clottey beat Zab Judah for the IBF Welterweight then and lost a split decision to Miguel Cotto last June.

Josuah Clottey spoke of Pacquioa's pending fight against the man he himself lost too in a recent interview with 8countnews.com

“I fought Cotto and he is a huge guy. Very big and strong. One thing about this fight is that if Pacquiao can take all of Cotto's punches, he is going to win. There is no way Pacquiao is going to run or move around. If he moves around too much some of the punches might get in. Cotto will throw a lot of punches which will create punches for Pacquiao. Only thing I have to say on Cotto's side is that Pacquiao is a little guy. If Pacquiao is not going to take Cotto's punches, then we have a problem and Pacquiao is in trouble. Pacquiao is small in weight. Its because of the media and the money he is moving up and fighting the big guys. Its 50/50. “

Pacquiao had such an easy time knocking out Cotto. It will be interesting to see what happens next.
