PACQUIAO & MAYWEATHER BECOME THE WORST BUSINESSMEN IN BOXING HISTORY!

By Matt Goldstein - The Biggest Money Fight in History Ruined over Stubbornness

There has never been a fight in boxing with so much money involved. There has also never been a fight with so much money involved that has fallen apart. To top it off, the fight was ruined over something that could have been easily negotiated. First, Floyd Mayweather must recognize that drawing blood can deplete an athlete’s energy and the entire body’s utilities. Second, Manny Pacquiao must understand that the amount of blood taken in a drug test is very minimal and the body will most likely not feel any effects, and even if it does, will be fully recovered within a few hours. The amount of blood removed is not the same amount taken when you are donating blood, but actually less than the amount taken when the fighters are tested for HIV and Hepatitis C. For Pacquiao & Mayweather both not to understand these issues is absolutely ridiculous! And for neither fighter to be willing to negotiate between 24 and 14 days for a blood test in order to pull in a possible $40 million each is entirely insane! This is the worst business move in the history of boxing and Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather are the worst businessmen in the history of the sport period. To boot, Pacquiao has signed to fight Joshua Clottey for far less money, but Joshua Clottey is actually an extremely tough fight. I for one would not be shocked Clottey beats Pacquiao convincingly and when the betting lines come out 4-1 in favor of Manny, this writer is putting all of his money on Clottey. It is also shocking that Top Rank is actually risking its cash cow Pacquiao against a guy like Clottey. Granted, Clottey is a Top Rank fighter, but will obviously never generate crossover star power like the Pacman. Now, if Floyd Mayweather wants to save any sort of credibility, he must fight Shane Mosley, which of course will be for much less money than the Pacquiao fight and probably a more difficult fight. The accusations of ducking Antonio Margarito are now coming back to haunt Floyd Mayweather. Even Floyd’s biggest fans are beginning to question his willingness to take on tough opponents. The real Pretty Boy Floyd, a legendary depression era bank robber, is rolling over in his grave! Next time when boxing is trying to negotiate a mega fight that could generate 3 million PPV buys at $60 a piece, instead of calling in a retired judge as a mediator, maybe we should call in Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and Carlos Slim to talk some sense into these intellectual imbeciles of capitalism.
